Library Moment of the Week

So...this guy comes to the desk and says there is this author...and he can't remember her name but she has a series out...and he thinks they might be called Twilight or something.  We suggest he might mean Stephanie Myers.  He says "Oh, yes.  That is it.  Well, I understand that those Twilight books are full of nonsense and make-believe...like with vampires and werewolves.  But, she has this other book...I think it's called 'The Host' and it's about aliens...."

Because I am a professional, I didn't laugh until he left...he just so sincerely wanted to learn more about the no-nonsense aliens....it was awesome!

I don't think that I would have been able to keep a straigh face. Maybe I should read about those no-nonsense aliens too.

Ha! I love it. I think "Library Moment of the Week" should be a regular bit on your blog.

I did read The Host, by the way, and I really enjoyed it. I'm not a huge scifi fan, but I totally got into it.

I agree, you should always post a "Library Moment of the Week". Man I do miss those crazy patrons.

I love library moment of the week. Aliens are pretty serious business, though. I've seen enough movies about aliens taking over the world to know that they are definitely serious. The only thing that guy had wrong is that vampires are also serious business. They might even be more serious business, at least aliens will just kill you but vampires will make you one of them.
